The Contented Ghost

If you should see me by the shore
Just leave me on my own
By tumbling wave, and note no more
My form of shining tone.
For out of time is all now set,
Thought enshrined in light;
A deep content is fully met -
Detachment scales a height.

No more my heart can grief contain
Since lost is earthly tie,
And memory now feels no pain
For senses born to die
So should you feel my presence near,
Stand still and ponder on
The needless thrust of fearful fear -
And I will wander on.

Said the Child...

"I love you...
I shall love you as long as you live
And when you are dead
I shall love you as long as I live,
And when I am dead
I shall love you as long as God lives."

When death passes by
There is rebirth of love,
Recurring, unswerving,
Philosophically wrought.
What more can God ask
Of the faithful than this?
